Mazda shows teaser 6 ahead of official Frankfurt unveiling

Mazda will reveal the new Mazda6 at next month's Frankfurt motor show. Full details will be announced at the show on September 11, but Mazda says we can expect improvements in the mid-sizer's environmental and safety performance.

The new Mazda6 follows the Mazda2 into the next stage of the 'Zoom Zoom philosophy', according to Mazda, "further deepening the emotional connection between man and machine".

Mazda calls the development "Kizuna", which should translate as attention to Mazda6's solid driving dynamics.

The redesigned Mazda6 is reportedly longer and wider than the outgoing model, and we may even be up for a V6 model (more here). New Mazda6 is scheduled for sale in Europe late 2007, and in Australia mid 2008.

The European-specification Mazda6 pictured here as a show teaser wears a heavily restyled fascia but we're expecting new looks from nose to tail. Stay tuned for the Carsales Network's coverage from the Frankfurt show for Mazda's official details.
